Dog Days of Summer

 

 

It's the dog days of summer and Y102 is hosting the 7th Annual Dog Days of Summer Pet Promotion on Saturday, August 13th from 11am to 4 PM at the Reading Public Museum! 

Rain date will be Sunday August 14th.  Click here for more info on the Reading Public Museum:  http://www.readingpublicmuseum.org/   Admission is FREE Dog Days in the Arboretum, but donations of food and supplies for the animal shelter are encouraged! (Regular Admission to Museum is seperate).


This event will showcase pet-related businesses and products and pet training classes!!   

FRISBEES FOR YOUR PETS PROVIDED BY LEESPORT PET RESORT, 221 Hafer Drive in Leesport, 610-926-8877, "Club Med for your Pet....Drinks Included!"

The dog show and contests are sponsored by TAILS A WAGGIN'.

The Dog show will have several classes:

1.   Favorite Small Dog

2.   Favorite Medium Dog

3.   Favorite Large Dog

4.    Favorite Dog Trick

5.    Best Dressed

6.    Best of Show

7.    Favorite Puppy

Prizes will be given to the top three winners in each event.

Registration begins at noon, just visit the Tails A Waggin' booth by the demonstration area to sign up the day of the event!  Judging by a panel of judges will begin around 1 PM.

Pizza Provided by Papa Johns Pizza.


Proceeds from food sales and donations of pet supplies/food as well as cash donations will be given to Animal Rescue League of Berks County and Berks Humane Society.  Visit their websites to find out what supplies they need and help our furry friends!

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
  • You will be responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
  • No bikes, skateboards or skates.  They can scare our pets.
  • Please leave at home dogs under 4 months of age, those in poor or questionable health, or those in heat.
  • Participating dogs must wear ID tags and be current on their rabies vaccinations.
  • Dogs MUST be on a leash and be under their owner's control at all times.  (Please no flexi-leads longer than 6 feet).
  • Unruly participants will be asked to leave.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Water and clean-up bags will be provided for your pets.
